Your responsibilities The Material Handler ensures the safe, efficient and accurate movement of

materials by utilizing the defined standards. Loads, unloads and moves materials within factory warehouse and manufacturing areas. The material handler supports production through distribution of materials by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. The Material Handling Specialist also maintains basic SAP transactions for inventory control and stock movements, in addition to managing warehouse processes to endure uninterrupted manufacturing.

Job Functions:

Safety

  • Safety first – supports a safe work place, takes action to improve the safety of the factory.
  • Safely operates tools & equipment, follows all rules regarding Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Conduct Start-Of Shift inspections of Mobile Equipment prior to shift
  • Report any unsafe condition found during the Start of Shift inspection to your supervisor immediately
  • Report any property damage, near miss/incident involving or caused by use of PITs immediately to supervisor
  • Conduct inspections of required PPE prior to use i.e. Fall Protection
    Quality
  • Quality assurance – shows a commitment to quality & takes actions to ensure the quality of the parts and end product.
    Work Content
  • Performs assigned warehouse function according to the standard and/ or SOP.
  • Meets unit quality and productivity metrics.
  • Follows written or oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
  • Load and unload of all types of deliveries, making sure that each incoming delivery matches the company purchase order, Advanced Shipping Notification.
  • Sustaining continuous material movement to the different work areas in the facilities e.g. receiving inspection, supermarket & bulk staging.
  • Operates cyclic replenishment systems like milk run trains.
  • Interacts with external vendor on proper management of materials in
JIT & VMI

areas.

  • Conveys materials from storage to designated workstations, i.e. stocking, replenishment & commissioning of parts to designated areas
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, carts & shelves by hand without damaging ensuring quality of parts.
  • Handles material accurately & carefully
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Put up of incoming product as well as pulling of parts from warehouse.
  • Work closely with the inventory group to monitor supply levels and submit purchasing recommendations on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with the inventory control and purchasing groups to determine when product is missing in a delivery
    Equipment
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
  • Lift truck certification required. Operates standard industrial lift truck, tuggers, electrical and manual pallet jacks, battery charges, and other forms of material handling equipment on the factory floor. Ability to operate very narrow aisle forklifts (Swing Mast).
    Processes
  • Interacts with SAP to order materials from main warehouse, supports receiving & Shipping with transactions and SAP processing.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
  • Completes paperwork thoroughly and promptly
    Organization
  • Communicates clearly & interacts with other departments
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Cross-trains as needed to learn all material handler functions
  • Work Independent – manage area of responsibility with no or little supervision
  • 5S – manages the 5S target organization consistently
  • Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean & safe work environment
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Your profile

Job Qualification Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to think and act independently.
  • Ability to use packaged software on PC based computer system (data entry).
  • Ability to safely operate various kinds of material handling equipment, including automated machines and sensors
  • Ability to apply appropriate safety procedures & equipment to protect company and customer assets, including personal protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses)
  • Ability to comprehend on the job training.
  • Ability to adjust to changing working conditions as business demands require.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team setting to deliver high performance results
  • Ability to be detail oriented & organizational skills
  • Ability to constantly reach outward, walk, sit, bend, squat, and kneel; occasionally twist, turn, climb, crawl, reach above shoulder, handle and finger objects & type using a keyboard.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the business as required by the job
  • Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including overtime
  • Any of the above requirements/qualifications may be waived for the successful candidate.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Your Pay & Benefits
The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
