Job Description :
Perform a variety of manual/administrative tasks associated with inventory control, production planning, stockroom management and shipping & receiving operations in accordance with established procedures. This position is First shift.
Typical duties/tasks include:
- Utilize a variety of material handling/packaging equipment
- Identify correct parts, components, wires and other materials by part markings, color codes, container labels, part numbers etc.
- Utilize desktop instructions, parts lists, forms, & other work instructions to complete tasks
- Perform bulk counting utilizing scales, calculators and tape measures.
- Fill orders per bill of material (BOM) requirements
- Package sold parts in proper packaging material
- Follow proper material handling and packaging techniques to avoid damage
- Follow proper procedures for storing, shelving, recording and placing inventory.
- Utilize computer systems and printers (e.g. recording inventory transactions, generate labels, etc.)
- Assist in generating Non-Conforming Material (NCM) return tags
- Conduct cycle counts and record results
- Support production window and process basic material requisitions
- Track materials (physical and systems)
- Unpack, verify condition of material, count & receive incoming materials; elevate & resolve discrepancies with minimal assistance
- Package & ship materials per shipping instructions
- Load & unload pallets, utilizing appropriate lifting equipment as needed
- Occasionally drive an electric pallet picker forklift
- Receive materials in Excel based computer program
- Distribute material to internal plant locations as required
- Build & break down boxes
- Collect and properly dispose of materials
- Maintain appropriate levels of packaging supplies; replenish as needed
- Recognize & take steps to resolve inventory discrepancies/work area issues
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed
- Train other employees & perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands (representative) Transport product with or without product carts; lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; sit and or stand for extended periods of time; bend, squat, stoop, reach, turn as required; use hands, arms and shoulders for extended periods of time to perform material handling; distinguish colors and meet vision requirements Work Environment Characteristics (representative) Work with products of various weights & sizes, material handling tools & equipment.
Wear personal protective equipment as required. (Internal Metatarsal boots shoes are required on start date) Education High School diploma Experience/Qualifications Minimum of 2 years directly related experience; good reading & math skills; good computer skills; demonstrated ability to read & follow written/verbal instructions, use basic measuring instruments, effectively & positively communicate and interact with others, handle multiple tasks at the same time, access & use computer systems (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word).
