Hiring for General Laborer in Charlotte, NC Pay up to $20/hr Job Description Join our team as a General Laborer, where you will play a vital role in efficiently and safely offloading inbound materials from rail cars. You will connect conveyor systems to containers for unloading raw materials used in concrete production, transport these materials to silos, and ensure adherence to safety protocols while performing all tasks. Responsibilities Offload inbound materials from rail cars safely and efficiently. Connect conveyor systems to containers for unloading raw materials. Transport raw materials to silos for storage. Regularly handle heavy materials, lifting up to 70-75 lbs multiple times within short intervals. Work in physically demanding conditions, including hot and dirty environments. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all unloading and transportation tasks. Essential Skills Production experience. Concrete handling. Packing and mechanical aptitude. Experience in warehouse environments. Preventative maintenance and general labor skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications General labor experience. Preventative maintenance. Work Environment You will work in a cement supplier facility that is very hot and outdated, with continuous exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and outdoor conditions. Protective equipment is mandatory. The work culture emphasizes teamwork in small teams of 2-3 people to meet production goals. The dress code includes long pants, a t-shirt, and steel-toe boots. You will start on a day shift for training, transitioning to a third shift schedule of 12pm-8am, with an average of 10 hours overtime per week, up to 30 hours during peak season. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $20.00/hr.
