Warehouse Clerk/ DriverJob SummaryF. M. Howell & Company is looking for a safety conscientious and customer focused warehouse clerk/ driver to join our shipping department. This person will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials to local manufacturing facilities and warehouses along with assisting with duties in the warehouse. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring the timely delivery of products and contributing to our company’s reputation for reliability.

Job responsibilities

• Opportunity to stay local while operating commercial vehicles, including box trucks, tractor-trailers, or other specified vehicles in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the forklifts and vehicles, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Handle paperwork and documentation associated with shipments, including bills of lading and delivery confirmations.
• Operate equipment, such as liftgates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to facilitate the loading and unloading process.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck, and perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks.
• Assist in keeping production and warehouse areas orderly and clean.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures applicable to job duties and responsibilities.
• Other duties may be assigned including giving assistance in other departments as needed.

Job requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required. CDL Class A or B not required but preferred.
• Must be able to successfully complete forklift training and receive certification.
• Passing of annual DOT physical required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Must be able to prioritize job duties to accomplish tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
