PM Pay Rate:
$16.50/hour
Job Summary:
As a Lab Tech III•Surfacing Blocker, you will play a key role in Essilor’s mission to improve lives by improving sight. This position focuses on supporting surfacing operations within the optical lab by taping, blocking, generating, polishing, and washing lenses. You may lead or assist teammates to maintain quality and workflow standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate blocking machine to secure lens blocks accurately. Apply protective tape using taping equipment to prepare lenses for surfacing. Assist with lens generation, polishing, and washing processes. Follow detailed production procedures and safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including chemical handling as needed. Support team members and production leads to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor quality standards and report discrepancies or defects. Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods and lifting up to 15 lbs regularly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in an optical lab preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Comfortable working in a production setting with noise, chemicals, and varying conditions. Willingness to work overtime if needed.
