Job Description
Material Handler F3 Metalworx 12069 East Main Road, North East, PA 16428 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse and sheet metal fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials and products, ensuring they are loaded, unloaded, and stored properly. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to operate various types of heavy equipment safely. Duties Identify the following Proper packing material as described in process manual for each customer Minimum and maximum height allowances Proper staging areas and correct product placement Where raw product is located Where finished product is located
- Follow a schedule and identify any urgent or new orders
- Report any broken equipment or tools to supervisor in a timely mannerSort, pack, wrap, tie, and label products per customer and company requirements as stated on process sheets
- Communicate clearly with shipping and receiving
- Assist in training new material handlers and warehouse employees
- Assist shipping and receiving in loading and unloading trailers
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials
- Ensure all paperwork is completed legibly and in a timely manner Identify and verify the following Part numbers/names Counts- reports any discrepancies to supervisor Identifies transitions between parts and notifies supervisor is assistance is needed Initiate process improvements Keep work area organized and clear from unnecessary debris.
Requirements Job Requirements Ability to drive, understand and follow all safety rules and regulations during forklift operation Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on your own and up to 200+ lbs. in a team lift or with equipment assistance Ability to walk, bend, stoup, crouch, kneel, climb, stand for 10 hours Ability to work in high temperatures Ability to work in cold temperatures Ability to communicate needs and concerns in a timely manner Ability to identify different parts and packaging materials Ability to use computers and various tracking systems. Ability to hear horns, buzzers, and an intercom page Ability to wear proper PPE- safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, steel or safety toe shoes or boots, and seat belts Ability to use and understand MIE (MRP system)Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred. Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, and cranes. Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues. Ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
