  • Completion of a Company Background Investigation, being a US Citizen, CAC, and T-1 Public Trust are the requirements.

  • Position Description:
  • The contractor must provide support to assist the SFLC in providing Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HMandE) logistical support for the alteration, repair, installation, redesign, or maintenance of complex systems and machinery on Coast Guard platforms that operate out of Base Charleston.

The work involves processing and maintaining FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) access for contracted personnel, asset supply management, and data entry into various data bases. The on-site contractor must have a solid working understanding of the above mentioned disciplines. The Contractor will work as part of a team with members from other branches within the division and will work under the guidance of senior supervisors.

  • Tasks:
  • The contractor must:(a) Provide input as a team member at cutter planned and emergency depot level availability planning team meetings which must include, but are not limited to, planning, contractor access requirements, supply status, and identifying current conditions of FLETC access.

(b) Attend and provide input at commercial availability arrival conferences, attend periodic site visits of cutters undergoing commercial availabilities, attend post availability meetings and provide input to post availability reports and surveys.(c) Attend meetings and conferences as required by the COR and may be asked to provide a written summation of the meeting or conference.(d) Particpate in Coast Guard daily pre-work meetings held during typical work hours. These will be used to assess, monitor, and ensure contractor access needs are maintained. The Government has the option to waive this requirement with mutual agreement.(e) Participate as a team member of depot maintenance availability planning teams (Port Engineers, Availability Project Managers, Engineer Officers and specification writers) to establish status of supplies and updates for contractor access.(f) Generate, review, maintain and update a supply database for the local parts inventory.(g) The contractor will assist the Government by conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and pricing information for spare parts and other supplies needed for ship repairs.(h) The contractor will prepare purchase requests and documentation for Government review and approval. All market research and documentation prepared by the contractor will be in a support role to inform government decision-making on repair part purchases. The Government retains final authority for selecting vendors and acquiring all supplies and services.(i) Receive parts and distribute to port engineers and maintenance teams. Monitor Mandatory-Turn In (MTI) items and coordinate return to the Inventory Control Point (ICP). Assist port engineers with tracking and managing Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE). Pack and ship materials for outbound shipment.

  • – up to 3 years experience and a BA/BS degree; 6 years work experience may besubstituted for a Bachelor’s Degree- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite (Work; Excel; Outlook; PowerPoint)
