Position Summary :
The Utility Janitor Worker plays a critical support role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational flow within the warehouse. This position ensures a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment through regular housekeeping, support of maintenance efforts, and safe operation of material handling equipment (MHE). The Utility Janitor will also assist with pallet handling, interact with various warehouse teams, and contribute to a smooth shift transition process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Safely and properly load, sort, and organize pallets throughout the warehouse. Perform daily housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, debris removal, and maintaining clean dock, breakroom, and work areas. Assist the Maintenance and Warehouse teams with cleaning projects, spill containment, and sanitation efforts as needed. Safely operate a variety of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including, but not limited to : Forklifts Pallet jacks Order pickers Reach trucks Ride on Scrubber Walk behind Scrubber Conduct routine inspections of janitorial equipment and cleaning supplies, reporting any deficiencies to supervision. Support safe shift transitions by communicating and coordinating tasks with incoming and outgoing associates. Interact professionally with delivery personnel and early morning receiving teams. Adhere to all safety standards, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience in warehouse janitorial, utility, or operations support roles preferred. Ability to safely operate or become certified on MHE equipment. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Work in a variety of environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty, wet). May be required to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on operational needs. Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferably one year warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to obtain certification and safely operate material handling equipment (MHE) to include forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, reach trucks, slip sheet attachment, and / or clamper truck or attachment. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. We are an Equal Employment Employer.
