Location:

The successful incumbent will be responsible for shipping, loading, and yard maintenance activities, identify and report discrepancies, and participate in and coordinate movement of materials from dock to stocking locations. Will be responsible for working with the shipping team to accomplish safely on-time; completing, correcting assignments; adhering to Company’s policies and procedures; following and encouraging all safety practices reporting any concerns to a Safety Team member or member of Management. Also, will be responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and maintaining machines, equipment, materials, and supplies in the yard, and maintaining a clear and safe workspace for employees & customers, and the yard operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:
- Responsible for shipping, loading shipments, determining shipping methods, and computerized record keeping for production and manufacturing.
- Coordinate with Inventory for shipments of products within required standards and well-known procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of all goods stored in the yard.
- Support facilities projects on a regular basis.
- Responsible for maintaining a fair and consistent set of standards as they apply to the team members.
- Assist in the development of other employees in the department, in the various tasks.
- Maintain and update work instructions as needed.
- Check daily demand of re-supply items.
- Function as liaison between Customer Service and Warehouse regarding shipments.
- Check emails from customer service and reply as needed.
- Communicate with customer service/transportation any anomalies regarding outbound shipments and appointment delays.
- Assist in any discrepancies of shipments including providing proof of deliveries/pickup.
- Assist with workspace cleanup and telephone answering.
- Contact customers for cargo pick up or arranges for delivery of cargo.
- Maintain inbound and outbound cargo files as directed.
- Report any employee or process concerns (i.e. specifically health and safety) to Management.
- Conduct routine checks and safety audits to ensure all activities meet the necessary safety codes and guidelines and report potential hazards.
- Identify and report discrepancies.
- Receive material into the ERP system.
- Participate in and coordinate movement of materials from dock to stocking locations.
- Inspect and maintain viability of stock storage areas.
- Assist in all yard operations and ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Assist company staff in all yard operations.
- Ensure equipment and materials are properly maintained and secured.
- Ensure yard and facility cleanliness and organization.
- Assist in routine or non routine equipment maintenance and checks.
- Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements /
Qualifications:
Academic Training:
- A High School Diploma
- A valid forklift License.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in a warehouse environment.
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment and signage industry an asset.
