Job Description

Warehouse/Shipping Receiving Clerk
Location Knoxville, TENNESSEE, USCategory Warehouse/Distribution/Logistics 05/07/2025
This position is responsible for ensuring that orders are packaged to protect products, coordinate freight using customer directed carriers, making timely shipments, and ensuring all freight company, customer and company required documentation is accurate. In addition, this position is responsible for receiving and safely storing purchased and customer supplied materials/components and ensuring all required documentation is accurate.

Education and Experience:
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

No experience required; previous shipping and receiving experience is a plus

Required Skills/Competencies:

Basic Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word experience is a plus
Prior ERP or MRP systems experience is a plus; will provide training on our system
Must be proficient with using a tape measure to within 1/16″.
Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools such as tape measures, steel-rules, calipers, attribute gauges, gauge blocks and pins, go/no go type gauges, etc.
Will provide advanced training on use of other measuring tools, extrusion process and quality requirements.
Ability to use common hand tools and to setup and operate various common powered tools and production equipment.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Ability to read and comprehend production documents and simple mechanical drawings is a plus. Training will be provided.
Familiarity with the company’s quality system and applicable procedures, and the company’s work and safety rules and procedures, with training.
Ability to initiate and maintain various production reports and records, with training.
Ability to interact positively customers, suppliers, delivery personnel, with supervisory personnel and coworkers.
Ability to operate a lift-truck (forklift) (optional with appropriate training).
Essential Responsibilities
Receives purchased materials, components, and supplies.
Conducts first-stage receiving inspections in accordance with quality system procedures and applicable inspection plans.
Ships finished product in accordance with shipping plans.
Interfaces with freight companies and drivers to ensure timely dispatch of shipments.
Maintains the Company’s raw materials storage area(s), shipping staging area and finished products warehouse.
Performs job assignment duties in accordance with applicable quality and manufacturing procedures, work instructions (verbal and written), good manufacturing practices and safety procedures.
Operates small hand and power tools and equipment (i.e. screwdrivers, hammers, powered hand-drills, nail gun, banding equipment, etc.).
Operates powered stretch-wrap equipment.
Operates electronic scales used to weigh parts and packaged product.
Fills out and maintains shipping and receiving documents and records in accordance with job and procedural requirements, including data entry into ERP system.
Counts, wraps, packages, and/or labels finished product in accordance with work instructions (verbal and written) and procedural requirements.
Transfers stock and finished product either manually or by means of manually operated stock handling equipment such as handcarts and pallet jacks. Upon successful completion of operator training and qualification, operates a motorized lift-truck (forklift).
Prepares shipping documents including, as appropriate, bills of lading; packing lists; product certification documents; shipping labels; etc.
Conducts monthly inventory cycle counts as directed.
Performs such other duties as may be assigned by management or immediate supervisor.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $16.00 – $16.00 Per Hour
