Warehouse Associate Laborup Athens, TN 37303 Bonus This role offers a $1,000 sign on bonus.
Overview:
We are looking for a Material Handler & Forklift Operator to join our family-owned small business and support our sock manufacturing operations. In this role, you will pick and fill yarn orders for the shop floor, manage yarn inventory, and carry out general warehouse tasks. If you’re organized, can work with minimal supervision, and have forklift experience, this position might be a great fit for you. Forklift experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Raises Opportunity to earn a raise every 60 days in the first year based on performance and attendance
Responsibilities Warehouse Operations:
Unload trucks, weigh incoming yarn, and use scanners to relocate or track inventory. Assist with physical inventory counts and manage the transfer of yarn between storage areas.
Forklift Operation:
Safely use forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move yarn or other materials within the warehouse.
Materials Testing:
Learn and perform basic yarn testing procedures, following instructions for each fiber type. Complete inspection forms and submit them to the supervisor.
Order Picking & Delivery:
Pick and fill yarn orders according to the daily needs of the shop floor, using our software platform to locate yarn in the warehouse and documenting your work before delivering the yarn to the manufacturing department
Organization & Documentation:
Keep track of yarn tickets when the last case is taken to knitting, maintain clear records, and communicate any stock shortages or issues promptly.
Inventory Management:
Return unused or leftover yarn to its proper container, update system locations, and ensure accurate labeling and weighing.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Sweep warehouse floors, dispose of trash, break down boxes, and record waste weights.
Qualifications Forklift Experience:
Must be able to operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Certification preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or move throughout the shift.

Punctual, great attendance, and able to work independently without direct supervision. Attention to

Comfortable using basic warehouse software and scanners to track inventory accurately. Precise measurement of materials using scales.
