As a Senior Administrative Specialist, you’ll provide high-level, day-to-day administrative support to the Public Utilities Engineering Team. Apply today to join our collaborative and dedicated team! + Provide record drawing information on the location of Sarasota County-owned utilities (water, sewer, and reclaimed water) to internal or external customers in various formats and means of distribution. + Receive and receipt utility record drawings from Capital Projects and Utilities Regulatory. + Review and evaluate records drawings and electronic files for compliance with the Utility Code then enter records into the information tracking system (ABDM) and maintain electronic and manual files for reproduction and distribution. + Assist Utilities Regulatory with Site & Development plan and Utility Construction plan reviews by preparing GIS maps illustrating the county’s utility system’s infrastructure. + Maintain Sarasota County Utility Code standard engineering details for water, wastewater, and reuse system. + Receive and document requests from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) or FDOT’s design consultants for Sarasota County Utility facilities located within the FDOT right-of-way.

Work Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

About You Minimum Qualifications:

+ An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in related field. + Four (4) years of clerical or administrative experience. + -OR- on a year-for-year basis, experience may substitute for a college degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Expereince working with GIS/ArcMAP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. + Utility background in water, wastewater, and/or reclaimed water. + Understanding on how to p erform manual drafting of utility construction plans.
