GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of an employee of a higher classification, performs technical, inspectional and investigational work for the Wastewater Collections division. Work involves the receipt, investigation and resolution of sewer complaints. An employee of this classification is required to document problems and work being performed. This employee is also responsible for follow-up inspections of finished projects for citizen’s satisfaction. Supervision may be exercised over a small crew of workers as assigned. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or equivalent certificate of competency, three years of experience in sewer, water or drainage construction and maintenance, and two years of experience in the resolution of complaints involving public contact.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS

(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) Position(s) of this classification may require a valid Louisiana driver’s license. If license is required, must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
