Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Utility Services Coordinator. Continuous oversight is exercised over all personnel within the team. This position is subject to shift hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., as assigned. Employees assigned to qualifying second shift working hours will be eligible for shift differential pay. Examples of Duties Interviews and hires new employees; performs employee evaluations; manages disciplinary actions; manages payroll information. Schedules safety classes for employees; completes accident reports; monitors the progress of employees to ensure accuracy and timeliness; develops training matrix and standard operations procedures for field services. Plans, prioritizes and dispatches work assignments for the Senior Water Servicers and Water Servicers. Performs quality control on field work; assists and/or responds to employees/citizens in the field with any concerns and/or complaints; researches data in various systems as needed to resolve issues or concerns. Provides technical support to staff for various hardware and software; creates service requests when needed; assists with special projects. Maintains warehouse inventory for water services materials and supplies; orders and restocks items from warehouse/vendors.
Typical Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and considerable experience in water services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; thorough knowledge of standard office and department specific software; thorough knowledge of industry standard and department specific equipment; thorough knowledge of the employee evaluations; thorough knowledge of timesheets; thorough knowledge of engineering specifications; ability to research and come to an accurate conclusion of an account status or recommendation for a customer resolution; ability to prepare plans and detailed reports; ability to plan and supervise the work of skilled, semiskilled or unskilled workers; ability to read maps; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with associates, supervisors, and the general public.
Physical Requirements:
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires climbing or balancing and reaching with hands and arms; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arm’s length and operating motor vehicles or equipment; work frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather) and exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to the risk of electrical shock and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).
