Job Description
Supervisor – Water and Wastewater Operations Sarandrea Associates Group Corp Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 Sarandrea Associates Group Corp (SAGC) is seeking a Water and Wastewater Project Supervisor licensed by the State of New York to oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of water and wastewater treatment facilities at the Hudson Valley Healthcare System campuses. This leadership role ensures the delivery of clean, potable water and the proper treatment of wastewater while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring compliance with NYSDEC, NYSDOH, OSHA, and other regulatory standards. Manage and schedule a team of licensed operators to meet operational and maintenance requirements. Review, sign, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to regulatory agencies and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs of plant equipment. Ensure compliance with State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permits and other environmental regulations. Support ongoing construction projects and plant upgrades, including coordination and equipment operation. Attend progress meetings with VA-COR and engineering leadership as needed. Enforce strict discipline, safety protocols, and good order among workers. Respond to emergency service calls and ensure timely corrective actions.
Qualifications:
New York State Licensed Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certifications. Minimum of a Grade 2 Wastewater Operator Certificate Minimum of a Grade II A Water Operator Certificate Minimum 5 years of recent experience (within the last 6 years) supervising operators in water and wastewater treatment plant operations. Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including filtration, chlorination, UV systems, sludge digestion, and clarifiers. Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., SPDES, NYSDOH, DCDOH, WCDOH). Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
