WASTE WATER SUPERVISOR POSITION SUMMARY
The WasteWater Supervisor is supervisor of the water, waste water treatment,bi-products shipment and storm water prevention, as well asresearch and development of cost efficient standards for thedepartment. Must have a Class A Operators License or obtain onewithin a year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned 1. Supervise the watertreatment, wastewater treatment, and offal and feather screen area.2. Supervise operators within the department including training,developing and motivating them to achieve their maximum quality andproductivity performance in their respective positions. 3. Managedaily sampling protocol on Phosphorus, TSS, BOD, and FOG to satisfyregulatory reporting compliance. 4. Compile water, wastewater, andstorm water prevention reports, inspections and records, includingTier 2 reporting requirements, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI),boiler, air permits, wastewater reporting storm water permit, etc.to comply with city, company and regulatory agencies, including EPAand DNR. 5. Act as a liaison on behalf of Pilgrim’s working withthe City of Sumter SC Water/Wastewater Department and City UtilityCommission as well as providing monthly DMR report. 6. CompleteDischarge Monitoring Report for the city on a monthly basis. 7.Develop and implement goals and objectives, as well as departmentalbudget; monitoring and explain any variances. 8. Research anddevelop cost efficient standards for the department. 9. Maintainthe equipment within the water and wastewater department; directingmaintenance and sanitation. 10. Oversee the scheduling, moving, andloading of bi-product trailers. 11. Monitor water usage and waste,optimizing sampling protocols and water reuse efforts, keepingmanagement informed and assisting with improvements 12. Certifyfork-lift operators. 13. Assist other departments in the areas ofwater reuse, quality, and continuous improvement projects andquantity reductions. 14. Work with other departments and assist inthe administration of the Environmental Audits, as well as theOperational Excellence Program within the complex.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Observe and enforceall company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
Post secondary education with courses in water/wastewater, biology,chemistry, or related subject material and one to three years ofexperience in water and wastewater systems. OR More than threeyears of experience if no post secondary education. The ability toobtain Class A license with in 1 year. Possess, or willing toobtain within one year, a pre-treatment wastewater operator’slicense. Fork-lift trainer certification or willing to obtainwithin one year. Poultry processing experienced preferred.
Experience in driving a tractor/trailer; willingness to obtain aCDL within 6 months of employment. Considerable skill incommunicating and working effectively with fellow team members andmanagement team. Good organizational and prioritization skillsrequired. Computer experience in Microsoft programs required.
