This role supports the safe, compliant, and efficient management of wastewater and liquid waste streams in accordance with federal, state, and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental compliance and wastewater treatment operations, including radioactive and hazardous waste management. Job Responsibilities/Duties Oversee and support the treatment and disposal of wastewater and liquid wastes, including hazardous and low-level radioactive materials Conduct waste characterization and acceptance processes to ensure proper handling, storage, and treatment Verify that all wastewater meets compliance standards prior to discharge Maintain documentation and ensure activities are conducted in accordance with RCRA, TSCA, DOE and DOT regulations Collaborate with environmental, engineering, and operations teams to support waste minimization and regulatory compliance Review and interpret technical data and regulatory requirements related to liquid waste streams Participate in audits, inspections, and reporting as required by federal and local environmental agencies Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Engineering, a scientific discipline, or a related technical field from an accredited college/university. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in waste management or environmental compliance Demonstrated proficient in wastewater treatment and liquid waste management Knowledge of federal waste regulations including RCRA, TSCA, DOE and DOT standards Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Currently located in or willing to relocate to the Knoxville, TN area Prior experience in a DOE-regulated facility or working with radioactive waste streams Professional certification(s) in environmental or waste management fields Work Environment This role may require occasional travel and work in both office and industrial settings, including treatment facilities and waste storage areas. Job Type & Compensation Full-time, non-exempt, hourly. Compensation based on experience and skill level. Paid time off, flexible hours, and a comprehensive benefits package.
