SANITATION
TECHNICIANThe City of Andalusia is accepting applications for a Sanitation Technician position in the Public Works Department. Under the general direction of the Sanitation Labor Supervisor and/or Sanitation Truck Driver, the employee performs routine sanitation collection work by collecting garbage from commercial and residential establishments within the City’s jurisdiction. Duties include emptying garbage containers into collection vehicles and unloading garbage into the transfer station. The employee in this job will be expected to safely perform manual tasks with speed and efficiency. The employee will perform other related job responsibilities as required. Work involves routine unskilled manual labor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to
- Standard high school diploma, GED or any combination of education and experience which provides the qualifications listed above
- Ability to work nonstandard hours and/or over 40 hours per week
- Must possess a valid driver’s license as issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Based on experience.
