Montgomery, AL 36108 Job Summary The Recycling Center Attendant plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our recycling facility. This position involves overseeing the recycling process, ensuring that materials are sorted correctly, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, capable of heavy lifting, and experienced in operating various types of heavy equipment. Responsibilities Monitor and assist with the sorting of recyclable materials to ensure proper processing. Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, and front loader trucks safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Clean and sanitize work areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for staff and visitors. Fabricate necessary components or tools as needed for operational efficiency. Dig and prepare areas for new recycling operations or improvements as directed. Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow and productivity at the recycling center. Skills Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift. Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and front loader trucks. Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and organization within the facility. Capable of fabricating tools or components as required by operational needs. Experience operating roll-off trucks and garbage trucks is preferred. Knowledge of sanitation practices to maintain a clean working environment.
