Performs a variety of tasks related to the Closed-Circuit Televising (CCTV) of the city’s wastewater collection systems, and related appurtenances. Regularly performs a variety of functions, and technical tasks relevant to CCTV operations and responsibilities. Possesses the knowledge and understanding needed to use CCTV equipment and other heavy equipment, vehicles, power tools, and hand tools utilized in the televising, maintenance, cleaning, and repair of the City’s wastewater collection system. Understands the purpose, method and use of safety equipment, safe working practices and procedures and ensures adherence to safe work procedures and practices. This classification is distinguished from Jet-Vac/Video Operator I and II due to greater experience, training, and licensing requirements. Reports to the Wastewater Collection System Superintendent. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The intent of this class description is to provide a representative summary of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of classifications given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position. Incumbent may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description. o Operates a vehicle, jet-vac truck, TV truck, utility truck, generator, meters, pumps, jet rodder, flow meters, torches, hand, and power tools. Maintains assigned equipment and tools. o Operates CCTV truck and equipment involved in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of wastewater collection, and other related structures and systems; secures equipment upon completion of work. o Directs and performs all tasks related to the televising and cleaning of the city’s wastewater collection system and related appurtenances; operates video inspection truck and equipment for inspecting sewer lines; reviews video reports for possible problems and reports to supervisors. o Maintains the safe working condition of all equipment used; perform minor repairs on equipment and reports the need for major repairs; performs pre-trip vehicle inspections; services and lubricates equipment as necessary. o Accurately observes, records and documents conditions and reports observations. o Transports equipment and materials to work sites, loads, and unloads equipment and materials. o Check job sites for potential hazards; determines precautions for safe equipment operation. o Assembles and sets up appropriate barricades and signs at work sites; perform traffic control as needed. o Performs the full range of duties involved in the maintenance, repair, and construction of various structures and systems including in the areas of wastewater collection and/or related structures and systems when not assigned to equipment operations. o Operates a variety of hand and power tools in assigned construction and maintenance area. o Personally operates and trains others in the use and maintenance of CCTV equipment; trouble-shoot equipment malfunctions/problems. o Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures. o Reads and interprets a variety of maps, drawings, sketches, and blueprints for assigned project areas. o Knowledge of the locations of streets in the collection system, and locations and characteristics of the sewer collection system and related appurtenances. o Recognizes and deals with hazards encountered in the course of work.. o Prepares and maintain a variety of basic records and reports. o Responds to emergency situations during off-hours as necessary.

o Prepares and submits inventory records, survey reports, production reports, work orders, vehicle/equipment inspection reports and other key documents o Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other department heads and employees, other city employees, customers, sales representatives. o Provides training and guidance to subordinate employees. o Responds to after-hours emergency calls. o Performs related duties as required Position Requirements/Qualifications
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
o High school diploma or GED o Six years of experience in utilities construction and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. o Must possess a Class “A” Wastewater Collection Certification at time of employment. o Must possess CDL class “B” endorsement. o Must have a competent person certification for confined space entry. o Must obtain a NASSCO Manhole Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) Certificate within one year of employment.
GENERAL BENEFITS

Vacation Permanent full-time employees earn up to ten days of vacation during their first year of employment. Accrual begins from the first month of employment, but cannot be used until after the third month of employment. Permanent part-time employees have the opportunity to earn vacation after the completion of one year of continuous service. Sick Leave Permanent full-time employees accrue sick leave at the rate of one day per month. Permanent part-time employees have the opportunity to earn sick leave after the completion of one year of continuous service. Health Plan The City currently provides medical coverage through Aetna. The City pays the health insurance premium for the employee and 50% of the premium for dependents. Permanent full-time employees have the option of electing coverage from three plans: Health Network Only Plan (HMO), High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with HSA and Open Access Managed Choice Plan (POS). Permanent part-time employees have the option of electing coverage from two plans: Health Network Only Plan (HMO) and the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) The City also offers Dental coverage through Delta Dental. Pension (Defined Benefit Plan) Permanent full-time employees are automatically enrolled in one of the City sponsored pension plans, which are funded by mandatory City and employee contributions. The Plan provides a guaranteed income, based on years of service, to its members upon retirement. 457(b) Plan (Deferred Compensation Plan) Employees can elect to participate in this Plan, which enables the employee the option of deferring compensation on a pretax basis, not to exceed the applicable limits established by the IRC.
