JOB DESCRIPTION
This position performs skilled work in the operation of truck mounted U.L.V. spray equipment. Employees in this class are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment used for adulticiding in Columbia County.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High School education or G.E.D. preferred
One year experience in vehicle and/or equipment operation;
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Possession of a valid Florida Operators’ license is required-This job requires a valid driver’s license for the employer to drive their personal vehicle or a company vehicle for work-related duties as required by the employer to include various worksite locations. Each applicant is required to submit a completed County Application for Employment.
The successful applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and criminal history check
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Considerable knowledge of the practices applied to the safe and skillful operation and care of vehicles and equipment
- Knowledge of all Laws and County Regulations pertaining to the operation of the equipment
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to communicate with fellow employees and the general public
- Ability to properly use all provided safety equipment
- Ability to take a teamwork approach to the job by cooperating with others, offering to help others when needed and considering large organization or team goals rather than individual concern
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operates U.L.V. spray equipment and drives a pickup truck
Visually identifies hazards to safe operation or problem areas and reports or corrects them
