Job Description

Litter Removal 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Islamorada, FL 33036 JOB Public Works employees are multi-functional and perform varied physical tasks. This position requires constant outside work, involving the removal of bagged litter, loose litter and debris along all roadways. Additional duties include maintaining and monitoring the multipurpose trail throughout the Village. Must be self-motivated and detail oriented. Work will be performed under general supervision except in situations where the assignments are routine in nature or there are standard designated procedures. Such work performance is evaluated through observation of result obtained and while work is in progress. Position requires use of Village vehicles and equipment in performance of duties.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Routinely removes loose and bagged litter and debris in all right-of-ways and parks throughout the VillageRoutinely clears and/or removes gravel, soil and other debris from the multipurpose trails throughout the Village with manual and automatic tools Routinely clears and/or removes gravel, soil and other debris from all storm water inlets and drains.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor Safely operates light trucks, utility vehicles and other related types of equipment Performs daily safety inspections of assigned equipment prior to and after useProperly maintains and washes assigned equipment weekly Prepares and maintains records and reports as required

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Physical Demand Frequently lift and/or move materials, up to 100 pounds.

Drive a Village vehicle to and from worksite.

Frequently raking, using a backpack blower, using a gas weed eater, operating lawn mowers both riding and push mowers, use of mechanical hand tools including saws, hammers, drills.

Frequently cleaning vehicles, tools and equipment using bending and twisting motion. Work Environment Regular exposure to all weather and environmental conditions, inside and out, hot and cold.

Rain, dusty, and muddy condition at times.

Work in and around public places.

Nature of work requires positive skills and tact in Public Relations.
