Weighmaster for Public Landfill Staffing of St. Augustine Saint Augustine, FL 32084 Job Overview The Weighmaster for Public Landfill plays a crucial role in managing the flow of waste materials entering the landfill. This position is responsible for accurately weighing incoming vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and have experience operating heavy equipment. Responsibilities Accurately weigh and record the weight of incoming garbage trucks and other vehicles. Ensure that all vehicles are properly sanitized before entering the landfill area. Operate heavy equipment such as front loader trucks and forklifts to assist with material handling. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Dig and prepare areas for waste disposal while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness in the work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are sanitized and organized. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the landfill. Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and report any discrepancies. Experience Previous experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred, particularly with garbage trucks and front loader trucks. Familiarity with sanitation practices related to waste management is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by job duties. Experience in fabricating or repairing equipment is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
