The Grinder Sanitation must be able to perform any related job, at a sufficient level so as to not adversely affect the quality of production of the product. The GRS must be familiar with meat inspection and load procedures for 80’s and 50’s trimmings into blenders. The GRS is responsible for placing the trash in the appropriate compactors. Also, the GRS is responsible for washing formax parts and or trucks, as needed. The Production Coordinator may assign other duties as needed.
Core Responsibilities Brief Description of Job Responsibilities:
Must follow GMP, HACCP, and Safety rules. Must be Forklift Certified Must be able to perform all Grinding jobs. Must be able to follow proper sanitation procedures at all times: Wash and Sanitize trucks, once a day as minimum. Wash and Sanitize Formax parts, as needed. Must be able to place trash in appropriate containers: Cardboard compactors Trash/Plastics compactors Must be able to load up meat into appropriate hopper following establish HACCP and GMP procedures. Must maintain trash compactor area clean and wash down pallets, also must be able to identify good pallets from bad ones and 2 way from 4 way. Assist with breaks. Check Air Conditioning Units for condensation, wipe condensation as needed. Other duties as needed.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to shovel pork trimmings into hoppers when machines are broke. Assist in shoveling meat into Formax for an entire shift (if necessary). Be able to read and understand combo labels. Shut Down at the End of a Shift Must be able to perform all sanitation procedures: Must be able to clean Grinding area. Must be able to clean Formax parts. Must be able to clean Mid-Line area. Must be able to assist with the cleaning of the Pack-Off area. Must be able to assist with the cleaning of the Stack-Off area.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Ear plugs. Back brace (if necessary). Steel toe shoes/Rubber Boots (sanitation). Rain Suit (sanitation). Safety Goggles and chemical gloves (sanitation), as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Work Environment & Physical Demands Regularly exposed to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to extreme cold, fumes, toxic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of possible electrical shock, noise level sometimes high in production area. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. Regularly lift, carry and dump up to 32lbs spice bags, if necessary. Shovel meat into the Formax for an entire shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
