Job Description Hourly Range ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $18.50 per hour
- $20.50 per hour per hour. Work Hours The work hours for this position are approximately Mon
- Fri + Weekends, 6:00 am
- 6:00 pm Key Purpose Environmental Technician II will be responsible for operating a Biomedical waste shredding and deactivation system to ensure the treatment and disposal of medical waste.
Technicians will be responsible for loading waste-filled containers into shredder/deactivation system. Operators are responsible for performing tasks associated with handling and transporting waste while making safety and compliance their top priority. These team members work successfully with fellow employees & others to collect waste and deliver it to appropriate and client approved waste facilities and receptacles. This position requires completion of duties year-round in all weather conditions where it is safe to conduct business. Success Criteria Arriving on time daily
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
Efficiently and effectively handle waste containers
Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
Understand reporting systems and the environment
Proper receiving and storage of all bio
- and pharmaceutical waste containers
Ensure all equipment is in good working order
Clean and sanitize the work area and waste containers as required

Read and understand SOP’s required to execute job responsibilities
Collect bio•and pharmaceutical waste from various areas of a large pharmaceutical facility
Prepare waste collection areas, ensuring that manufacturing areas have all necessary waste-collection supplies
Operate shredding equipment and manage waste streams
Clean and dry containers containing biowaste materials
All bio and pharmaceutical waste to be contained and/or cleaned up throughout waste collection cycle
All waste material to be delivered to appropriate and client-approved waste facilities
Maintain waste collection schedule and meet agreed performance metrics
Maintain waste collection documentation manually and digitally as required
Assist other departments as needed Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be able to understand one’s own physical limitations to the extent necessary to perform the necessary functions and tasks of the job
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must occasionally lift and/or move or push up to 75 pounds
The ability to stand 33%, Walk >66%, Sit Use of hands to finger, handle, rub, grip, and feel Reach above shoulders Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, or Crawl Talk and hear 100%
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust and focus 100%
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
Risk of electrical shock and vibration
Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions
The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods
