We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to maintain a safe and clean facility that supports our operational excellence.
Job Summary:
As an Environmental Services Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment across our Baton Rouge plant site. Your responsibilities will include comprehensive cleaning and related duties for production floors, offices, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces, with safety as the top priority. Key Responsibilities:
Maintain office, common area, and thoroughfare area floors in a safe, clean condition to prevent hazards and support a professional environment. Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures, ensuring a hygienic appearance. Dust and wipe down surfaces, including machinery, workstations, desks, windowsills, and equipment, to prevent dust accumulation. Clean common areas, such as break rooms, lobbies, and meeting rooms, including tables, chairs, microwaves, and refrigerators. Perform outdoor cleaning tasks, such as sweeping walkways, cleaning windows, removing debris, and maintaining cleanliness around the plant site. Empty trash bins and recycling containers, ensuring proper sorting and disposal per Safe Air Technology’s protocols. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, bathroom products (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper), and common area amenities, reporting low stock to supervisors. Prioritize safety by adhering to guidelines for handling chemicals and equipment and promptly report hazards like spills or damaged equipment. Ensure cleaning practices comply with Safe Air Technology’s safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers) and perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains) as directed. Assist with special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning during factory shutdowns, maintaining inspection readiness at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in cleaning, custodial, or environmental services, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting, is a plus. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment, with a focus on maintaining a safe, dust-free environment. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols specific to HVAC production. Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills. Good communication skills and a team-oriented, collaborative attitude. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Comfortable working in a factory environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
Work Environment:
Work across indoor (production floors, offices, restrooms, common areas) and outdoor areas of the Baton Rouge plant, with potential exposure to machinery, chemicals, and industrial equipment used in HVAC unit production. Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety shoes, and safety glasses, may be required.
