Recycle Material Technician 2nd Shift 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 2040 American Italian Way, Columbia, SC 29209 2nd Shift 4:00PM – 1:00AM The Recycle position will maintain safe and efficient operations of all recycling functions at the plant. This position requires to operate a sit-down forklift to complete recycling operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foster a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices Assists in developing solutions to specific problems through continual process improvements Strong teamwork attitude and communication skills Facilitate cross department requirements and support Facilitate all recycling operations including loading/unloading trailers Sort and segregate recyclable items from trash Operate a compactor, bailer, and forklifts Perform wooden pallet repairs as need Maintain recycling work centers and outside of the facility Train teammates and new members to the recycling team Complete additional tasks/duties as needed or directed
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge of warehouse operations Organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills Oral/written communications Operate sit-down forklift (preferred) Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly Willing to work any shift, weekends, and some holidays Able to work in a very cold (36 °F) and wet environment Flexibility to work all shifts as needed
