This role is critical to ensuring a high-quality, efficient customer experience and smooth workflow for all light maintenance services. The Express Team Leader will supervise a team of technicians, coordinate service flow, maintain safety and quality standards, and serve as a liaison between service advisors and technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise express technicians performing oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, and other light maintenance services. Monitor productivity and quality to ensure all services are performed efficiently and meet company standards. Manage bay flow and assign work to technicians based on skill level and service demand. Train and mentor team members, including onboarding new hires and supporting their development. Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers regarding wait times, service status, and any additional needs. Ensure tools and equipment are used properly and maintained in good working condition. Uphold cleanliness, safety, and compliance protocols in the service area. Monitor and track team performance metrics and make process improvements as needed. Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally. Assist in maintaining adequate parts and supply inventory for the express lane.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an automotive service environment, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance services and shop operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. ASE certifications or similar credentials are a plus. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
