Field Technicians Job Description:
Regional Manager is a working manager responsible for recruiting, training, assigning Techs to districts, and working with technicians in assigned districts; communicating job expectations; Monitor and manage technician performance and the annual review process; enforcing policies and procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Regional Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our service business. This person is responsible for the performance (operations and growth) of the service operation. Such responsibilities may include the following: Responsible for leading a team of Field Technicians Interview/hire and train new technicians Work closely with field technicians to meet customer requirements Work closely and communicate with customer to meet requirements Work with dispatcher to make sure that all Techs are running routes according to service schedule. Identify and resolve customer issue by prioritizing and responding with an appropriate sense of urgency Train employees in planning and servicing routes in an efficient manner Train employees to survey newly acquired customer locations and implement training to fulfill contract requirements Monitor employees and hold them accountable to company’s safety guidelines Resolve any Tech issues in regard to customers and/or individual problems that may occur on a daily. Ensure that all trucks and warehouses are kept up to company standards Drive technician productivity Ability to balance and manage priorities Preform periodic QC to ensure customer quality Attend weekly, quarterly and annual managers meetings (Quarterly and Annual are in ATL) Duties but not limited to: Check Regional Overview each morning first thing for prior day services completed Reach out to each Tech in your district each morning Check with dispatcher and get updated on routes Check in with Service Operations Manager daily Ensure that scheduled WO’s are completed as scheduled per Tech each day Ensure that each district under your area is kept up on schedule Assist in unloading deliveries
Schedule Example:
Monday-Visit a route that you are responsible for Tuesday-QC of that route. Hold weekly Service and Safety meeting with all techs for your division Wednesday-Work along techs to ensure they are completing jobs in a timely and safe manner Thursday- Meet with Maintenance Directors/Customers as needed in the area you are in that week Friday-Review schedules for upcoming week and send changes to dispatch
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Two years of field experience is in the HVAC industry and/or previous managerial experience Two year degree from an accredited institution for business management preferred
Preferred Skills:
Organization, Critical Thinking, Discipline, Communication, Flexibility and the Ability to Follow Through with tasks are all very important to this position. Experience dealing with the public and Customer Service issues, and the ability to work well with many different personality types extremely helpful. General knowledge of HVAC units helpful but not required. Related experience to include handyman, facilities management, mechanical or construction experience.
