Advocate Tri-County Protective Agency, Inc. Hinesville, GA Shelter DV Advocate (Midnight-8am, 8am-4pm, 4pm-midnight)
Minimum Requirements:
Highschool diploma; One year internship or work experience in victimology, or related field; Valid driver’s license with no offenses.
Recommended:
Associates and/or college degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field. One-year previous experience in domestic violence shelter work or advocacy, rape crisis intervention, or case management; Training, course work or CEU’s in domestic violence shelter work or advocacy, rape crisis intervention, or case management.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible to:
Emergency Shelter Lead Advocate and Executive Director. 2. Report for appointed shift on time or arrange for absence as per policies. 3. Answer and properly document all telephone and/or crisis calls as per policies. 4. Maintain client, shelter, and program security Protect confidentiality of client information and shelter location as per policies and Georgia statutes, Document all client, volunteer and/or shelter-related incidents as per policies, Explain and abide compliance with all Tri County rules and policies, Police facilities to ensure all fire safety codes, client and building security procedures are being maintained in this facility. Maintain awareness of client-children’s safety by keeping medicines locked, policing for poison, sharp objects, etc. as per policies, Report any problems or violations to supervisor 5. Manage assigned caseload for comprehensive case management for program clients Monitor cases for progress, Maintain complete, accurate client records, Implement direct services, assistance, and referrals for service per case plans, including, but not limited to, nightly support meetings, daily review and planning with clients and chores list 6. Maintain required documentation of client information as required by Tri County policies and per request of supervisor: Document all client and/or shelter related incidents as per policies. Compile data for monthly statistical reporting and submit to supervisor within established guidelines, Submit weekly activity logs, itineraries, etc., to supervisor, Maintain updated documentation on all donated items and items given to clients as direct assistance. 7. Meet weekly with supervisor for supervision and case review. 8. Interface with appropriate agencies for program development and client intervention. 9. Recommend program changes, updates, policies needed, etc. to supervisor. 10. Maintain an organized and clean workspace and shelter: Supervise client clean up chores in the facility Conduct “deep cleaning” tasks monthly, including but not limited to, cleaning of facility doors and door casings, windows (inside), walls, window coverings, light fixtures, appliances (televisions, washers, dryers, freezers, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.), spot clean upholstered furniture and floors/floor coverings, trash bins (inside and outside). Police yard and remove trash, toys, etc. notify supervisor of any needed repairs or safety concerns regarding yard/play equipment. 11. Maintain ample supply of program forms, make copies for program use as requested by supervisor. Notify supervisor of need supplies, repairs to office, machines, facility, etc 12. Participate in public relations activities as experience permits and when requested by supervisor. 13. Attend all staff in-service trainings; attend external continuing education workshops as needed and/or requested by supervisor. 14. Perform other duties as assigned.
