Insurance Customer Care Specialist (Path to Account Manager) North Star Heritage Group 36 Main Street, Gorham, ME 04038 Job Overview North Star Heritage Group is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and personable Customer Service Representative to join our in-office team in Gorham, Maine. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a family-like, professional setting and is eager to grow within the insurance industry. As a key member of our service team, you’ll provide front-line support to clients handling calls, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and assisting with claims and payments. You’ll also play a pivotal role in supporting the agency’s growth through exceptional service and operational efficiency. We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years of customer service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks with professionalism and care. Experience with platforms like RingCentral or Salesforce is a plus. This position includes full training and licensing support, with the expectation that you’ll earn your Property & Casualty license within six months. Upon licensing, you’ll be promoted to an Account Manager role with expanded responsibilities and compensation to match. Salary Range:
$25,000.00 – $35,000.00 per year Benefits Annual Base Salary Based on Experience Paid Time Off (PTO) Flexible Schedule Life Insurance Hands on Training Mon-Fri Schedule Career Growth Opportunities Retirement Plan Requirements What Were Looking For 2+ years of customer service or administrative experience Familiarity with tools like RingCentral, Salesforce, or similar systems is a plus Strong communication skills in person and over the phone Ability to manage daily tasks independently while taking direction from the Director of Customer Service A quick learner with solid judgment, resourcefulness, and professionalism Responsibilities What You’ll Do Answering incoming calls and assisting walk-in clients Scheduling appointments and managing daily office flow Handling data entry and maintaining digital/physical files Referring prospects to the licensed sales team or agency owner Helping with direct mail and advertising campaigns Accepting policy payments (where permitted) and issuing receipts Assisting customers in initiating claims and gathering loss info Processing non-coverage-impacting account changes (e.g., address/phone) Supporting licensed reps with tasks related to Life insurance payments
