This role ensures continuity of service during high demand periods, promotes interdepartmental coordination, and drives initiatives to improve responsiveness, accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction. The position plays a key role in supporting team development, enhancing process effectiveness, and providing data-driven insights into customer service performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the Customer Service team. Provide direct support and backup during high-volume periods or staffing shortages. Monitor and manage workload distribution to ensure team effectiveness. Ensure timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints. Follow up on outstanding service issues, open quotes, and pending requests to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction. Identify reasons for lost quotes and recommend improvement strategies. Evaluate existing workflows and recommend enhancements to increase department productivity and responsiveness. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support consistency and accuracy across customer service functions. Assist in setting and reviewing team goals and performance metrics. Conduct regular coaching and feedback sessions to support team development. Lead or support employee training efforts to strengthen product knowledge and customer handling skills. Act as a liaison between Customer Service and internal teams such as Sales, Production, Engineering and Shipping. Communicate customer expectations and ensure alignment with internal processes and delivery timelines. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3-5 years of customer service experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience (e.g., Infor Syteline) is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Other Skills and Abilities
