M Job Description Purpose:
Under general direction, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement, plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the client navigator environment.
Examples of Typical Tasks:
At a more difficult and responsible level, performs the tasks of
Assignment Level I:
1. Greet clients and identify service required to facilitate their flow throughout the facility. 2. Direct clients to appropriate personnel or area. 3. Monitor facility entrance and lobby to facilitate client flow throughout the facility. 4. Provide clear and accurate answers to questions regarding the facility services. 5. Maintain a directory of facility interpreters, departments, and local transportation and community services. 6. Maintain wheel chair availability at all times. 7. Report client concerns to the appropriate department. Relay information and messages to appropriate personnel. 8. Maintain coverage of assigned work area at all times. 9. Maintain customer confidentiality. 10. Maintain records. 11. Distribute informational material and surveys. 12. May distribute visitor passes and answer questions regarding patients’ status in accordance with facility policy and procedure. 13. May explain policies and procedures to clients. 14. May retrieve information from computer system or staff. 15. May file, type, use personnel computers, and answer phones. 16. May escort clients. 17. May provide interpreting services for clients with visual or auditory impairments as well as limited English-speaking clients. In addition to performing the tasks of Assignment Level I at a more difficult and responsible level, as described above, performs the following: 1. Supervise, plan, coordinate, monitor and train staff. 2. Troubleshoot problems with clients, traffic flow and computers. 3. Disseminate information to staff. 4. Prepare reports, analyze data and recommend changes to enhance client relations and flow of traffic in facility. 5. Assist in the development and distribution of informational material. 6. Maintain listing of events, meetings and workshops. 7. May be responsible for updating the Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) Report and the Alpha-In-House Census. 8. May review client information for accuracy. 9. May collect, evaluate and prepare reports. Minimum Qualifications Assignment Level I 1. High School diploma or GED; and 2. One (1) year of full-time customer service experience; and 3. Good written and oral English communication skills; and 4. Computer skills, including word processing, spread sheet and/or database software programs Assignment Level II 1. High School diploma or GED; and 2. Two (2) years of full-time customer service experience, including one (1) year of supervisory/administrative experience; and 3. Good written and oral English communication skills; and 4.
