We are in search of an enthusiastic team member to manage our Keuka Lake winery tasting hall this Summer. This is a key position within our family owned company. The ideal Candidate will earn a highly competitive salary with benefits and have the opportunity to earn additional sales and profitability bonuses. Wage is dependent on experience! This position oversees all aspects of Heron Hill Winery’s tasting hall. Job duties include but are not limited to management of day-to-day tasting hall operations and personnel. This leadership position requires initiative, vision and excellent communication skills including relationships with management, patrons and employees. Strive to continuously improve Heron Hill’s quality of service, education and hospitality while building and developing strong and reliable employees and consumer base. Manage tasting hall Hire, train and schedule staff (Responsible for all scheduling of retail gift shop and tasting hall staff) Create and implement rigorous protocols of wine training and wine education program Focus on continual training, new product releases Focus on education and development of retail gift shop staff and other support staff Cross-train staff in both gift shop and tasting hall Focus on selling techniques based on patron’s interest and needs Focus on customer service and attitude Enforce rules and procedures in Employee Handbook Develop, implement and enforce daily activity list Work with other managers to integrate tasting hall activities with all aspects and events held at the winery Maintain a welcoming, organized and clean tasting hall environment. Includes maintaining a clean and well-presented gift shop, tasting hall, restrooms and outdoor customer service areas and maintaining clean and organized storage areas Schedule staff and maintain reservations schedule for all patrons and groups Develop and maintain tasting wine inventory controls and procedures Report monthly on tasting wine inventory Follow through on sales goals Develop and implement sales tracking program for tasting hall and retail staff Develop and maintain income generating and cost cutting programs/procedures Work within and understand annual budget Help with the Wine Club Maintain close relationship with all wine club members Increase and promote membership, engagement and sales Plan and execute in person and virtual tastings and events Work and manage all winery events
