Service Manager Job Description The Service Manager will oversee and manage a dynamic customer service team, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency. This role requires a proactive and customer-centric approach, with responsibilities ranging from recruitment and training to performance management and strategic planning. Responsibilities Train and supervise team members in handling customer inquiries and feedback regarding orders, shipments, and problem resolution. Recruit, hire, and retain members of the Customer Service department, including Customer Service Representatives, Technical Sales Representatives, and Customer Account Specialists. Plan, assign, and direct the work of the Customer Service team while evaluating their performance, including taking disciplinary actions when necessary. Review all work instructions to ensure accuracy and oversee proper training of these instructions for all appropriate employees. Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met. Provide proactive sales support to internal and external customers, including periodic site visits. Provide backup support to other customer service personnel as required. Process all expedite requests from distributors and customers, coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and communicating with relevant parties. Manage Military Contracts for the organization, collaborating with the Quality Manager as needed. Communicate with the planning team regarding expedite requests and assist the production team in meeting customer demands. Promote and execute a culture focused on excellent customer experience. Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to develop plans for department growth. Perform other related duties as necessary. Essential Skills 5-10 years of experience in Sales/Customer Service Management. Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Background in government contracts, sales, and technology support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred. Experience in a Customer Service role within a manufacturing organization with supervisory experience preferred. Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment preferred. Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. Occasional travel required, including international travel, to support field staff, distributors, and customers. Work Environment The position is on-site, operating five days a week with flexible hours. Occasional work from home days can be considered. The workday starts between 7:00-8:30 AM and lasts for 8 hours, with a 30-minute lunch break until 4:30 PM. The environment fosters a collaborative and customer-focused culture. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00•$90000.00/yr.•Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Leetsdale,PA.
