PAY RANGE
$60,000 – $70,000 Regular attendance and punctuality Ability to prioritize, multitask assignments, andproblem-solve Be in the office during normal business hours to take clientcalls Ensure that the requirements of the client are well defined,understood, and communicated to the laboratory staff through LIMSlogins, program specifications, lab notes, and project kick-offmeetings Excellent communicator capable of leading a team. Ability to motivate team members and train them whennecessary Manage Project Management team and Field team Seek opportunities to increase productivity within the ProjectManagement and Field teams Ability to use (or learn to use) LIMS and other computersoftware Ability to work under pressure Organizational skills The ideal candidate would possess: Bachelor’s degree in a Science or English field Experience in an environmental laboratory Supervisor/Management experience would be a plus This position will work closely with Laboratory management, leadingthe Project Management and Field Technician Teams. They will beresponsible for the following: Prompt report turnaround to maintain clientsatisfaction Assistance in training Answering/directing client phone calls Assisting with Chain of Custody review, reports, and invoicingas needed Managing pre-logged work orders, the field schedule, andschedule changes Scheduling of team members to maintain coverage daily Essential Functions Work with the Operations Manager to ensure prompt reportturnaround to maintain client satisfaction Supervise field services team, sample receiving team, andproject managers to create a seamless throughput of data Answer/direct client phone calls and concerns to theappropriate staff Assist with review of chains of custody, reports, and invoicingas needed Manage pre-logged work orders, the field schedule, and schedulechanges Performs other job-related duties as assigned Supervisor Responsibilities Supervises, hires, trains, provides work direction, andproblem-solving assistance for employees; also oversees the dailyoperations of client-facing staff Required Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
– Bachelor’s degree in science- orEnglish-related field Experience in project management for an environmentallaboratory Supervisory experience is a plus Familiarity with EPA, ASTM, SM, etc. methodologies Knowledge, Skills & Abilities General knowledge of chemistry and lab operations; ability toproperly review data and reports for the various methodsused Strong verbal and written communication skills Management skills; ability to lead a team and provide trainingand guidance to subordinates Professional demeanor and appearance; ability to serve as arepresentative of the company; ability to work with clientsregarding lab supplies and analysis Ability to prioritize and multi-task Organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Word andExcel Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete alldocumentation Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularlyworks in an environmental laboratory setting. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger iscommon. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful fornormal conversations, to receive ordinary information and toprepare or inspect documents. Duties frequently involve repetitivemotions and eye/hand/foot coordination. Testing priorities andtimelines may serve as a source of emotional stress. The employee is occasionally required to walk, lift, carry,balance, push, pull, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, grasp, andfeel. Use of applicable Personal Protective Equipment is mandatorywhen in the lab.
