Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of customer service professionals, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to policies.
- Oversee all aspects of customer accounts, including new account setup, accurate billing, efficient payment processing, and effective debt collection strategies.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and concerns with professionalism and adherence to established guidelines.
- Develop and implement staffing schedules and resource allocation to meet service demands.
- Contribute to the development of departmental goals, objectives, policies, and annual budget.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of customer service staff.
- Ensure accurate cash handling procedures, cash drawer balancing, and timely bank deposits.
- Collaborate with the Fiscal Officer on audits and prepare comprehensive customer service, billing, and collections reports for management and the Board of Commissioners.
Required Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in customer service, billing, and cash accounting, including at least two (2) years of supervisory and administrative responsibilities within a public utility (water, wastewater, electric, or gas).
- This experience is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, finance, public administration, public relations, or a related field is a plus.
