Job Description
- Covington Electric Cooperative, Inc.,is seeking a Member Service Representative (Enterprise office)
- Under general direction of the Member Service Manager, receives payments in person, at the drive-thru window, over the counter, via telephone, from members and by mail; makes change, prepares deposit slips, posts payments; answers phone and routes to appropriate person, and other related duties as required.
Balance night deposit and cash drawer and makes daily deposits. Addresses member inquiries and complaints regarding service requests, outages, answering calls from members, and distributes meter bases, rate and usage charts, and service wiring diagrams.
- Applicants wishing to apply should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must have high school education or its equivalent, and three to five years’ experience in cashiering/Member Service Representative type work, preferably in the electrical utility field, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Must be able to balance cash drawer and prepare bank deposits; verifies starting cash and balances cash drawer each day while following established guidelines and provides proper cash drawer documentation to accounting department
- Must be able to communicate well enough to handle difficult conversations, discussions, or situations in person or over the phone
- Must be able to work in a high stress environment and deal effectively with demanding situations as required
- Must possess basic knowledge of computers to include data entry and retrieval
- Must possess basic knowledge and skill to use the following office machines: 10-key calculator; telephone; personal computer and printer; photocopy machine; and mail opener
- Must possess verbal communication skills to receive visitors, assist members, answer questions, and obtain necessary information to follow-up request
- Must be able to establish priorities and work without close supervision
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays in emergency situations
- Must be willing to participate in special training programs/classes as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
