Full Job Description Position Summary:
Alabama Steel Supply is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Counter Salesperson to join our team. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting sales activities, and facilitating smooth order transactions. The ideal candidate has a background in customer service and sales, preferably in the building supply or metal building industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers at the sales counter in a professional and friendly manner Answer inbound phone calls and respond to customer inquiries Process payments accurately and efficiently Take and process customer orders both in-person and over the phone Assist with order pickup and ensure accuracy of outgoing orders Make outbound phone calls to follow up on leads or connect with past/current customers Respond promptly to internet and phone inquiries Maintain a clean and organized sales counter area Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent service delivery
Qualifications:
Previous experience in customer service and sales is required Experience in the building supply or metal building industry is preferred Bilingual skills are a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
