We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team. We are a growing, independent distributor, with an immediate opening for an Operations Assistant. This entry level position will perform administrative duties and other functions that help streamline the daily business operations of our organization. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Providing customer service support to customers and/or suppliers, both verbally and electronically. Creating and placing purchase orders with suppliers. Communicating with suppliers daily in support of all supply chain efforts, delivery, and/or quality, including problem resolution and material expedites. Creating sales orders and communicating with customers, both verbally and electronically, to ensure customer requirements are met. Working alongside sales staff, to ensure a streamlined process of orders. Assisting with daily operations of shipping/receiving materials as needed. The successful candidate should exhibit the following skills: Proven customer service and interaction skills, with direct customer and supplier contact. The ability to work in a deadline driven environment. Able to work both independently and in a team setting. Exhibit organizational and time-management skills, and be able to prioritize differing tasks to ensure successful completion. Be able to be cross-trained in multiple critical areas of the department. Have good verbal and written communication skills. Computer use with attention to detail is critical. The following skills are a plus, but are not required: QuickBooks experience Government contracting experience Foreign language fluency (due to the nature of the job, may communicate in English and a foreign language)
