Description
The Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety is a full service accredited, certified training center that runs the following core classes: Firefighter 1 & 2, Paramedic, EMT, Driver Engineer, FLUSAR (TRT), Fire Officer, Live Fire, and all AHA classes. These are some of the specialties that an individual can apply for to teach. Each area has its own requirements which a candidate should be familiar with prior to applying. The applicant performs highly responsible instructional work involving coordination, scheduling and interaction with students both in lecture and skill assessment. Learning the use of our management system, rules and regulations are a necessity. An instructor ensures all work is performed according to established safety standards, Federal, State, local codes/regulations.

Examples of Duties
The Student Service Advisor serves the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS) as a student liaison and collaborates with all departments to promote a positive, student-centered experience. To execute the functions of this role well, the Student Services Advisor must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully with students, internal stakeholders, and all other members of the CSRIPS with regularity. The Student Service Advisor must embrace and promote a diverse work and learning environment. They must also facilitate collaboration and teamwork across the institution to support student success at all levels.
Provides exceptional customer service as part of the Student Services team to students, guests, vendors etc. at the CSRIPS training facility. Effectively provides advice to students either in-person, through the student information system, by e-mail and by phone. The person in this role will be the first point of contact for students, alumni and student delegates for questions related to CSRIPS or other general information. Gains an in-depth knowledge of all functional areas handled by Student Services including the student life cycle.
Assists students with resolving problems by providing in depth, comprehensive guidance and offering solutions or researching options to assist them as needed.
Coordinates and participates in career events and Open House both internally and externally.
Explains and facilitates appropriate processes and procedures to enable students to resolve their problems and answer their questions, e.g., submission of appropriate paperwork or required documents.
Able to manage or refer students appropriately to services outside the immediate purview of Student Services such as, but not limited to, Academic Program Advisors, Program Administrators, Faculty.
Determines when it is appropriate to escalate issues to specialized departmental staff.
Quickly incorporates critical campus situations and/or major policy changes into their work, e.g., policy changes.
Monitors and manages MyCSRIPS and CSRIPS general email to ensure that issues are resolved appropriately and timely, in compliance with service level agreements.
Assists the CSRIPS Operations Manager and staff with various office duties.
Handles incoming and outgoing mail for the office.
Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field of Financial Aid, Registration, Enrollment, Billing and related professional organizations.
Participates on department and campus committees, programs, and projects as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required. Some college/minimum of an Associate’s Degree preferred.
Two years of experience working in an administrative support position, preferably in an academic institution/training environment.
•An equivalent combination of training, and related experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement.
