Experienced Service Writer Wanted – Full-Time Island Automotive 801 East Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 We’re a well-established, full-service auto repair shop in Marco Island (servicing the area since 1979), and we’re looking for a reliable, experienced Service Writer to join our team. This is a hybrid role that combines customer-facing service writing with some behind-the-scenes parts management—perfect for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in doing the job right the first time, every time. Responsibilities:
Greet customers, write up repair orders, and communicate clearly about services needed Work closely with technicians to identify required parts and service needs Order, receive, and bill out parts from manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers Maintain accurate inventory and manage parts for current and upcoming jobs Provide updates to customers on repair status and parts availability Schedule repairs and coordinate job flow efficiently with the shop manager Ensure timely and accurate invoicing
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Automotive service writing and/or parts experience (both is ideal) Strong organizational and multitasking skills Solid customer service and communication abilities General automotive knowledge (both classic and modern vehicles) Familiarity with parts ordering systems and invoicing procedures We service all makes and models—domestic and foreign—and have a large customer base that includes both routine maintenance work and classic car restorations.
