Job Description
In this on-site role, you ll serve as the first point of contact for patients fielding a high volume of calls with empathy and efficiency. From scheduling eye exams and surgical consults to answering questions about treatment plans and insurance, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a seamless, supportive patient experience from the very first interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a high volume of inbound calls with professionalism, urgency, and care
Schedule appointments for a range of ophthalmic services, including routine eye exams, pre/post-operative visits, and testing
Use medical terminology to guide patients through their questions and needs
Accurately update and maintain patient records in our electronic medical records (EMR) system
Triage and direct calls appropriately to providers, technicians, or administrative staff
Document all interactions clearly and thoroughly for continuity of care
Uphold excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards in every conversation
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in a high-volume call center preferred
Familiarity with ophthalmology, optometry, or medical terminology is a big advantage!
Proficiency in data entry
Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Clear, confident verbal communication and active listening skills
Dependability, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude
Must be punctual and comfortable working in-person in a clinical setting
