POSITION SUMMARY
The Service Writer is the liaison between the Drivers and the Service Department. To ensure proper documentation and understanding of repairs needed as explained by the driver of the unit. Interdepartmental communication to keep various departments informed of status updates on repairs of the equipment. Service Writer will receive a write up from Kiosk in the Drivers’ Lounge or Transflo App for repairs and maintenance to units at the Lake Wales, FL Terminal. Quality control of New Driver trucks inspect for safety, reliability and professional image of truck and provide driver with proper functioning equipment using the Form for proper fitting control. Issue and collect fittings from drivers using the correct form to maintain accurate inventory levels. Responsible for having fittings cleaned and having buckets prepared, during normal business hours, to issue to New Drivers. Maintain shop keys and flow of driver keys. Refer to Key Policy for requirements to be addressed by Service Writer. Assist with parts to deliver to technician and have knowledge of how to look up correct parts, and properly bill towards a truck.
