Job Description
Customer Experience Associate – Water Sports Murphs Surf 8865 Midnight Pass Road, Sarasota, FL 34242 Our locations require a background check and CPR/AED training, which will be provided by Murphs Surf. As a part of our team, you’ll play a key role in our business model, which necessitates working on weekends and holidays. The tourism industry thrives during these periods, so being available for a minimum of three weekends a month will greatly enhance your likelihood of being hired. We value holiday availability as well, especially during high-demand seasons like spring break (February through April) and important holidays such as Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend. We strive to accommodate your scheduling needs wherever possible. Currently, we do not have split shifts, so your availability must be from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM or until customer(s) are back. This is a part-time position that may evolve into a year-round opportunity for select individuals. In your role at Murphs Surf, you will assist with kayak and paddleboard rentals at our locations in Siesta Key and Sarasota. The day begins with your arrival 30 minutes prior to opening, where you’ll prepare the rented equipment and confirm the day’s reservations. When customers arrive at our shared workplace with our partner marina, you’ll guide them through signing waivers and completing the check-in process. You’ll then provide them with a map detailing local attractions and confirm that they have all necessary safety equipment before assisting them into their rental gear. Throughout the day, you’ll check our reservation system for new bookings and help with walk-up customers. After each rental, completed reservations will need to be checked for equipment condition. You’ll prepare the gear for the next customer, which includes washing and addressing any repairs needed. Our kayaks and paddleboards come in various sizes and weights, so it’s important that you can lift inventory as needed. Additionally, you’ll enjoy working outdoors in a warm climate and around water. Safety is a priority, so you’ll conduct regular safety checks for weather changes and tide conditions. Effective communication with customers via our shop phone and familiarity with computer operations will also be essential in your role. We look forward to having you as part of our team!
