Job Description:
We are currently seeking a friendly, organized, and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be our clients’ first point of contact and play a crucial role in shaping their experience with our practice. This position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for working with animals and people, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet clients and their pets warmly and guide them through the visit process. Answer phone calls promptly, manage email communications, and schedule appointments using practice management software. Provide information to clients about services, treatments, and hospital policies. Process payments, manage financial transactions, and handle billing inquiries. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Update and maintain client and patient records with accuracy. Communicate effectively with team members about client needs and scheduling changes. Participate in educational opportunities to improve knowledge and skills. Assist with promoting the hospital’s services and products. Handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in veterinary services, office administration, or related field is a plus. Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, retail, or customer service position is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service. Proficiency in using computers and office software, including word processing and scheduling programs. Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. Compassion for animals and an understanding of the bond between pets and their owners.
