Our Client Accounting Services (CAS) practice is looking for a Principal to join the team… The position of Principal will be responsible for business development and growth while overseeing existing client relationships. Principal will lead client service teams responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for clients. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with CAS department initiatives and strategies to streamline processes and procedures to meet future growth goals of the department.
What you will be doing:
Appointment goal of having 10 meetings per week with business owners, financial executives, prospects, centers of influence (COI’s) and others Assist with expanding and developing the CAS practice through the selling and delivery of services, including participation in the proposal process, while positioning Windham Brannon as a leader in this practice area Promote new ideas and business solutions which result in additional service offerings to existing clients by leveraging the latest industry insights, technological advancements, and best practices in their financial operations Ability to provide higher level financial advisory assistance and insight to business owners Facilitate client meetings relating to on-going work, special projects, and financial results and coordinate with other service teams for seamless services to client Lead all phases of CAS services provided to a client ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness Manage engagement economics including profitability and collections Develop a thorough assessment and understanding of client’s objectives and business needs Ensure that all client deliverables are prepared accurately while anticipating, identifying, and addressing concerns and problems as they arise Work within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction Assist with preparing monthly client billings for approval in the Firm’s billing system Lead client on-boarding process for new CAS clients Assist with facilitating CAS process improvement initiatives – analyzing existing processes, identifying issues, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, optimize procedures, reduce costs, and improve overall departmental performance Foster and cultivate relationships through collaboration with members of the CAS team and leadership throughout the firm Be involved with building a dedicated and motivated team of professionals, including being a part of the interview process for potential departmental new hires Ensure professional development for the team and self through ongoing education and training Provide mentoring and training to CAS staff members What you bring: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, master’s or advanced degree preferred CPA required 12+ years of experience in a public accounting or professional services environment 6+ years of experience providing client accounting services in a public accounting or professional services firm 10+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling team members Experience with providing CFO services or higher level financial advisory assistance Strong background in GAAP and quality control with an emphasis on accounting concepts, standards, and financial statement preparation engagements Previous experience providing accounting services for small or middle market clients in various industries including manufacturing, construction, real estate, not-for-profit, professional services, and healthcare, desired Innovative and forward-thinking leader with a proven track record in building, developing, and sustaining clients and teams Strong organization skills with the ability to strategically plan for growth, innovation, and exceptional client service Ability to cross-sell firm services to the existing client base while adhering to independence standards
