Customer Service Representative Position Available In Jefferson, Louisiana

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team in Metairie, Louisiana. This short-term contract to full time position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage dispatching and logistics tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, exhibit excellent communication skills, and work collaboratively with team members and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate dispatching and logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and accurate communication.
• Maintain and update customer profiles and records on a quarterly basis.
• Collaborate with customs brokers and officials to facilitate cargo releases.
• Provide instructions to trucking companies for container pickups, noting deadlines and updating systems accordingly.
• Schedule deliveries with internal and external trucking partners.
• Monitor trucking operations, address equipment or scheduling issues, and communicate updates effectively.
• Prepare and process billing and invoicing tasks promptly, forwarding documentation to accounting.
• Track and trace import and export shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Handle freight forwarding documentation, including bills of lading and certificates of origin.
• Support general drayage and accessorial billing processes such as chassis usage, detention, and demurrage. Requirements
• Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a logistics or dispatching role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for managing data and documentation.
• Strong skills in email correspondence and order entry.
• Ability to handle inbound and outbound calls professionally.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks.
• Effective scheduling and appointment management skills.
• Prior experience working in a call center or similar environment is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions.
