Cashier/Customer Service Chevron Lafayette, LA 70503 Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while processing transactions and assisting with their shopping needs. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude will contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries. Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using POS systems. Process sales, returns, and exchanges efficiently while ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively upsell items. Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to ensure a well-presented store. Perform basic math calculations for transactions and provide accurate change. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer experience. Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally. Skills Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred. Proficiency in operating cash registers and POS systems. Strong understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing. Ability to upsell products and engage customers in retail sales conversations. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers clearly. A positive attitude with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
