Position:

We are seeking motivated candidates for the position of Customer Representative Specialist in the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Lewiston Branch. As a Customer Representative Specialist, you will be determining eligibility for and issuing various credentials, registrations, permits, and licenses, ensuring compliance with various federal and state laws, rules, and policies. You would make independent decisions on the appropriate processes to follow, provide information, and take action in order to ensure motor vehicle registrations, title applications, driver permits/licenses, state identification cards, and other services are provided in conformance with motor vehicle laws, rules, policies, and various federal regulations. You will play an important role in ensuring operational success and contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Whether you’re providing direct services, supporting internal processes, or driving key initiatives, your role will be vital to the success of the team. This position has a starting hourly pay rate of $20.75!!

In this role, you will: + Assist customers with motor vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses, Real IDs, voter registrations, and other BMV services. + Review legal documents to verify residency, insurance, and eligibility for credentials or reinstatements. + Process payments, reconcile cash, and ensure accurate financial transactions. + Conduct VIN inspections and review title applications to verify ownership and compliance. + Explain motor vehicle laws, regulations, and policies to customers. + Support branch operations by assisting with inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records. + Train new employees on BMV policies, procedures, and credential issuance. + Work with internal departments, town offices, and law enforcement to resolve customer issues.
